Phase 1 of the Web Portal for the Schroth Soil Test System is now available. Phase 1 provides a simple user interface to allow customers or other authorized users to run a variety of SQL Server Reporting Services reports, and to show only data that belongs to that user, or that has been shared with them.
There is a simple login screen, that provides needed functionality for registering as a user and resetting passwords:
After logging in, a default report can open automatically, as shown on the following screenshot. Once a user has logged in, they have access to a list of SSRS reports that allow them to track and view their data in a variety of ways. These reports can be easily customized without having to make any changes in the application, and additional reports can easily be added. The reports allow users to drill down to PDF files of their actual Soil Test reports.
Phase 1 was designed to be relatively inexpensive to implement and easy to tailor to the specific needs of any organization. Capabilities being considered for Phase 2 include accepting credit card payments, entering new orders, and requesting new reports for existing samples based on different crops, new tests or other changes.
